sprinkler only stays on for a few seconds

Question
We have an Irritrol HR-6100. I programmed the unit and set all 6 Run times for "10" which I thought was for 10 minutes.  When I place the unit in Auto mode for program A, the system would turn on for at the correct time but run for 10 seconds.  I reprogrammed the run time for "30" and watched. It ran for 30 seconds.  OK... maybe its the number of seconds (though the manual I found online seems to indicate minutes).  So I increase the time and the count goes to 99 and then to zero.  So its range is 0-99 which according to the manual is minutes.  Is the unit defective now?  It worked previously and we turned it off during the winter but were now trying to set it up to water again.  Or is there some setting that changes the run time from minutes to seconds?   Thanks for any help you can provide.

Answer
Have you tried to reset the timer. I could not easily find out online line. I know most of the newer timers have a reset button on them. Otherwise it may work by just removing the battery and unplugging the timer for a minute or so. Otherwise it may be time to upgrade with a new timer. Good Luck.
