rain sensor

Question
QUESTION: hi just bought a ecxtra toro w wireless rain sensor
enb switch 1 switch 2 no or oc ? sensor don't seem to be working

ANSWER: Hi Tim

With the power to the controller disconnected.

The connections should be as follows:
Sw 1 = ENB
SW 2 = NO

Bellow the SW there are the SENSOR ports, disconnect the jumper wire and connect the YELLOW and White wires from the sensor receiver.

At the lower ports marked 24VAC connect the RED wires from the sensor receiver.

Initial Receiver Testing
Reconnect power to the controller and verify the Receiver抯 Power Indicator is illuminated.
Hold the Sensor/Transmitter at close range to the Receiver, then lightly press
and hold the Test Spindle. The Sensor Status Indicator should illuminate and remain
on until the Test Spindle is released. The Signal Indicator should also illuminate during
the test to verify good signal strength. If either indicator does not illuminate, recheck
your wiring. Verify that both antennas are fully extended and straight.

I am assuming you have an ECXTRA controller and an 53770 wireless rain sensor and you don't have any pump start or master valve connections.

If your configuration is different please let me know and I'll send you the instructions as needed.

Regards
Guillermo

Answer
Hi Tim,

Thanks for your info.

The timer model 53767 is not compatible with the wireless rain sensor 53854, because the rain sensor comes with an Smart Pod and the timer does not have the port. You need a wireless rain sensor model 53770 or a timer XTRA SMART?EC-XTRA?Landscape Timer model 53855.

Please let me know if you need more information.

Guillermo
