Help with plant identification

Question
The plant first comes up in a clump of grass like leaves about 6 inches long and 6 to 10 inches in diameter. Flower stalks appear. The flowers are small (smaller than a quater) with 6 narrow pointed petals and is white with a small yellow center. Flower opens during day and closes at night. I am in south west Nova Scotia, Canada - Shelburne.

Answer
What you describe sounds like a daisy {Compositae (Asteraceae)}...There are over 1500 genera and 23000 species of Daisies...They are probably the largest family of flowering plants... Without a picture of the plant's flower and foliage it would be vary hard to try and ID it...Take a photo or a plant to your local garden center to see if they can ID it past that...
Let me know if you can ID it...
