help with identification of butterwort

Question

unknown buttwort
Hello, Sarracenia Northwest

I've been growing this butterwort plant for quiet awhile, perhaps more than several years i suppose. My plant has grown many plantlets over the years and I've been able to raise many new off springs, but over the years I've lost the name of this type of butterwort. However, i suspect its a Pinguicula moranensis and i was hoping that you please idenitify this plant based on a picture that i've attached to this document. Your help will be greatly appreciated and respected.

Thank you again for you have answered many questions from me before.
-Mike

Answer
Hi Mike,

Your butterwort is indeed Pinguicula moranensis (based on leaf shape and flower).  It grows very well in cultivation and produces lots of progeny.  One of our customers purchased this same butterwort from us about 5 years ago.  He now has so many plants he sells them to local nurseries!

Good growing!
