green peppers & zucchini

Question
QUESTION: My green peppers sre rotting on the plant. I have mulch around the plants& have composted manure tilled in before I planted,I also have white worms in my zucchini stems, they killed the plants. Thanks Tom

ANSWER: Tom:

Please excuse my delay in answering your question.

For the worms you can spray with a friendly spray. Night time is better as they tend to be more active at night.

For the peppers I believe that this is called blossom rot that could be a virus which is hard to cure as there are many. Try pinching off the ones that look bad and pay close attention to the others. I do not think that this is a fungus. I am sorry that I can't be more help for this one. Purchase a hormone spray and spray about every two days and see if this helps.

Best wishes.

QUESTION: I don't think blossom end rot is the problem with my green peppers, the sides are rotten not the blossom end. As for worms in my zucchini, what are they. Thanks for your time, Tom

Answer
Tom:

If the rot is on the side of the pepper then I suspect that it is a virus.

For the worms, they could be cut worms or night crawlers. I healthy friendly spray should put them under control. Also spray on the ground around the base of the plants.

Best wishes.
