Noble bamboo (Himalayacalamus falconeri ‘Damarapa’) Synonyms:  Arundinaria falconeri Genus:  Himalayacalamus This perennial bamboo has dense clumps of smooth, olive-green, hollow, glossy culms, stained purple at the nodes, and linear, blue-green leaves to 6 inches long. Care:  Grow in humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in sun or dappled shade. Where hardy, grow as specimen plants in a woodland or wild garden, or in containers. Propagation:  Divide in early spring. Problems:  Infrequent.
