About Vermi Compost and Compost Tea

What is Vermi Compost?
Vermi compost is the process of breaking down of the organic materials into high quality compost material. Generally earth worms, bacteria and fungi are used in the process, because they decompose the organic matter. The final product of vermin composting is vermin compost or otherwise called as worm castings. Using this process we can speed up the process.
The nutrient rich organic substance is mixed with the soil and its organic content matter is increased. Worm bins just use the common process. They use the box that contains the worms. If you want to know the procedures then have a look. They mix the organic waste for the worms to eat so through this the waste gets purified. This process continued throughout the winter and it goes on throughout the year. This is the safest method converting the organic waste that leads to the production of environmentally safest product.
Mostly used earth worms are red wiggler and red worm. The scientific name of Red wiggler is Eisensia foetida and the scientific name of Red worm is Lumbricus Rebellus and other earth worms used are European night crawlers scientifically called Eisenia hortensis, African night crawlers and many more. Blue worm are used in tropic.
Large scale: vermi composting is used in Canada, Italy. The vermin compost is used for farming, landscaping and mainly this soil is used for plants to have a healthy growth of plants.
Small Scale: For vermin composting at house many large amounts of varieties of bin are available, for this they use many kinds of bins that are available. The containers used are made up of plastic, wood or metal. These bins need holes for allowing the air to pass through them. A hole is present at bottom for some bins to drain the liquid. But they require wooden bins for all this process.
Vermi compost is used for waste reduction, so for these worms are stored in the bins. They can survive in different kinds of temperature.
About Compost Tea:
Compost tea are water extracted, brewed from composted material and can also be extracted from aerobic and anaerobic process. The compost tea is formed by one volume of 4-10 volume of water, and uses aerating the mixture.
Process of Making Compost Tea:
Coming to the process the micro organisms are placed in water and then add nutrients and foods this helps in multiplication of bacteria and fungi rapidly. They generally send the air through the water to keep the water with oxygen (o2).This is the process of compost tea which are sprayed on leaves of plants.
