soil and pasta

Question
Dear James,
I acquired about 30 pounds of dry pasta that had bugs in it.  Can I incorporate this into my compost to feed microorganisms and help with moisture content?  Will it "spoil" and cause problems?  Also, I was thinking of starting a wormbox.  Should or could I use the dry pasta in the wormbox  somehow?  Thanks for your help!!

P.S.  Any advise on the wormbox is appreciated!  I obtained a large Styrofoam cooler that I think will woke well.  Thanks again!!!  CEB

Answer
Hi Christian, You can add it to your compost pile.  Turn it often and when it's composted, you can use the compost in your worm box. If it still looks like pasta when you get ready to use it, it's not done yet.  Let it fully decompose.
That said, I don't add any food to a compost pile.  It can attract mice, rats, raccoons and other vermin you may not like.  Jim
