About a lamp and CP

Question
Light
Light
Hey Jeff

I bought the lamp you recommended (burpee) 6,500 k and a 32 bulb :). My question is ... can a red leaf sundew and the red dragon that I just bought from you this week... is red will maintain with this lamp? How much light the planta suppose to get? I set the timer for 14hr , is that okay ? I just want to see red red res like the picture you have. :)

Thanks :)

Answer
Hi Gabriel,

14 hours is good for these plants.  To help the Red Cape sundew get the red color try to make sure it is directly in the brightest area under the light.  Your distance from the plants looks good.  You should know in a few weeks from the plants color if it's about what they want.

If the Cape doesn't turn red, then it would probably need real sunlight to get it there.  If you have it within 2 inches of the CFL, however, you should see it color up since those bulbs do have some UV emission.

Good Growing!
