wild moss

Question
Hi:) my question is: I have indoor plants and i would like to use moss to decorate the bottom of the pots on the top to show... I found wild growning moss in the outdoors, will it be safe to bring to my indoor plants? will it bring in bugs of some kind and kill my plants?
does it need to be spraid or washed?
thank you for you attention to my question :)

Answer
Hi Sylvie,

You can use the moss from outside to put around your indoor plants. Give is a good shake and pick off any creepy crawlies. It might go dull after a few weeks but then just replace it with some more.  Have you thought of maybe using decorative pebbles or crushed glass or seashells to do the same job?  There are plenty of these on the market now. You might even find 'reindeer moss' which they use on model railways to make trees etc. This is usually dyed a colour and will not 'go off' but is quite expensive.

Hope this helps

Regards
Sue
