worms

Question
My in-laws moved in for a few months with a dog, turns out the dog had round worms and others. I also have pets (cat) who now have these worms I also have a grandson and I do not want him to get them. How can I safely treat my yard to get rid of these. My yard is a mess with dog poop all over no one cleaned. I am disabled and have to hire someone to do the work in my yard.  I live in a very rural section of NY so experts are hard to find.

Thank You
Pat Murphy

Answer
Hi Pat, I'm afraid I'm not going to be much help.  NY has very strict pesticide laws, so you'll need to go see your local veterinarian and your local nurseryman to see what's labeled for use there.  If it's available, I'd use Consan.  It's a sanitizer that kills just about everything, including viruses, and has an outdoor and indoor label.  I'm not sure it's available in NY.  Jim
