high salt content

Question
in my veg gard i had my soil tested & its a 18. partly because of the water coming through the house through a water softner. but my ? what is the salt content of rabbit manure, on average? & what r some ways 2 lower the salt besides deep watering.  how many ways can i use saw dust as soil ammendments? as i have a large supply.

Answer
Hi Mike, Can't help you with the rabbit manure question, you'd have to send it off and have it analyzed or purchase a meter to measure it.  For salt, watering helps, gypsum may help lock up soluble salts.
Sawdust can be used as a soil amendment after it has decomposed.  Usually 6 months or so.  You do not want to use any sawdust from walnut or any treated lumber.  Jim
