Question
Hello! I have a mound in my front yard that is prone to weeds. Its is overcome with dandelions and other "unknown" small weeds. I am looking for a plant that is somewhat attractive - that will overcome the weeds (even the stubborn ones). The soil is strange... the top layer is hard dry soil - the under soil is almost sand like. I love in the PNW so we get A LOT of moisture and not much sun. Any suggestions?

On a sunny day, how many hours of sun will this mound get?
Are you wanting shrubs or a groundcover?
Is turf an option?
Any trees within 50' or so?
Was this a flower bed at one time or just a natural feature?
