Peach sprouts

Question
What does a young peach tree look like? I think I have one growing, but since I've never seen one before this, it just looks like a weed so far to me. It's about 7" tall, slightly fuzzy, and resembles some kind of grass stalk the way the leaves grow out of mature leaves' tubes. I'd like to know what it is before I continue to care for it.

Answer
Hi Nicole,
Thanx for your question.  A peach sprout 7 inches tall will have leaves that look like a peach's leaves.  Peach leaves are abou 3-4 inches long about 1/2-3/4 inches wide.  Sometimes they may have reddish or brownish markings on them.  The stem shoud be brown and green and it will not look like grass.  It doesn't sound like  a peach sapling to me.  Let it grow a little bit longer.  It can't hurt anything.  YOu can always kill it if it turns out to be  a weed.  I hope this helps.
Tom
