curled leaves on peach tree

Question
hi-

For several years now we have been having the leaves on our peach tree go from a vibrant normal looking leaf to a yellow green brown curled leaf. our peach tree is five years old and we have not have had any fruit to eat. they start but don't grow due to this problem. please make a suggestion what to use and can they be sprayed with the substance now?
thank you john

Answer
You are describing peach leaf curl, a fungal disease.  You can treat with Maneb fungicide now.  You will need to be on a spray program in order to make any edible peaches.  They also suffer from brown rot on the fruit.  Even is there is no fruit on the tree at this time I would spray with the maneb.  If there are small fruit you will need to include an insecticide as well, something like Sevin.  Peaches are hard to grow.  I hope this helps you make a peach crop next year.  Thanks.
