peach tree leaves turning yellow

i live in east tn. i have two trees . one small size peach one bigger peach. trees are three years old and started to produce this year. they have about thirty fruit on each tree. fruit is about one inch in diameter. this week i noticed some leaves turning yellow and falling off tree. can ispray at this stage?the trees are in direct sunlight and are green and healthy except this week leaves started turning yellow.i dont want to spray and harm fruit. what do i do?

Hi James,  
Your tree needs watering more frequently.  Don't waterlog the tree, but water it deeply once a week and let the soil dry out on top an inch or so down before you water again. Yellow leaves is usually a sign of not enough water and black tips on the leaves too much.  kathy
