sutera cuttings

Question
Could you please explain the best way to propagate Sutera or Copia? I live in Wales in the UK. I have a cold greenhouse.

Answer
Hi Brenda,
Thanx for your question.  I don't have much experience with Sutera and I don't know what copia is.  Sutera is also known as bacopa and you can take 10 cm cuttings, strip off some of the lower leaves.  Dip in rooting hormone (although some say this isn't necessary, it makes for more successful rooting, in my opinion...) and stick in soil less mix rooting medium damp but not soggy.  Rooting occurs rapidly with bottom heat and a humid, warm atmosphere.  A cold, greenhouse would not be conducive to rooting this plant unless it is in late spring or summer when temperatures can get quite warm inside a greenhouse.  I hope this helps.
Tom
