Question
My brug has "Yd" and is in bloom. In the fall I want to take cuttings and need advice. I want the cuttings to bloom next year and wonder if the cuttings have to be above the "Y", also when I prune the stalks down to about 2ft (They didn't Y til almost 6')will the cuttings below the "Y" and the original cut down plant, bloom next year? When pruning previous years,I have taken stalks and cut them in pieces and started them and had good luck with rooting but gave them away and never followed up on "Y" or blooming.

Hi Eileen,
Thanx for your question.  I am not an expert at Brugmansias having only grown them a few times from seed, from cuttings and from potted plants.  I went ahead and did some research for you.  I think this article from Dave's Garden describes the methods for which you are looking very clearly and much more knowledgeably than I could have.  I hope it helps.
