annual/perenial mixed seeds

Question
I planted seeds from a box and have so many but don't know what most are.  Many look like weeds but I'm afraid to pull.  O planted late in July but hope to know what's going on before frost?  I'd hate to weed out a perennil.  Any advise?

Answer
Hi Christine,
Thanx for your question.  I would tag the plants I like and either let the annuals die or if they come back in the spring and they weren't tagged, wait until they bloom (perennials can take two seasons to bloom) and then pull up the ones you don't want.  That's what I would do.  Annuals should have bloomed by now.  Annuals sometimes reseed but hybrids will not produce seed that result in plants that resemble the original parent plants.  Next year should be interesting when the perennials start blooming.  I hope this helps.
Tom
