Hi Dave, here in Florida where I live there are volunteers popping up all around our mature Queens; the palm sends out an inflorescence which matures into a seed pod, eventually these seeds fall off and you have seedlings popping up all around the base of the mother. I constantly shear them down when I'm mowing. The answer to your question, seeds. Nick
