ailing lychee

Question
well after about a month from when i got my answer about my lychee the new growth on it all slowly shriveled up so now all thats left on the tree are the old burnt tipped ones. is there any way i can salvage the plant and stop whats occuring

Answer
Hi Preston, if the roots are not terminally damaged then it should send out new growth, but you need to be patient; check the cambium layer (scratch the bark) periodically and make sure its still green, if it turns brown then the tree is beyond help. Back of on watering, and do so only when really dry, for the roots are not functioning at a hundred percent right now (if at all) and too much water will exacerbate the situation. Nick
