Super Dwarf Cav pup

Question
My Super Dwarf Cavendish has a pup that is 3-4 inches tall with six leaves (working on the seventh). I was wondering if it would be safe to separate the pup from the mother or should I wait until it's bigger?

Answer
Hi Jessica, wait until another pup appears before separating the "daughter" (the second pup will be the granddaughter), I hope your plant is in the ground and not in a container, for contrary to what is advertised, even a Super-Dwarf will be stressed if contained, and it will be hard pressed to survive, never mind bear a bunch. When you do separate the daughter, make certain that you cut down deep enough enough and then just give it a little outward (the shovel) pressure and you feel a distinct separation from the Mother, then just lift the entire root ball and portion of the Corm (the underground Rhizome).
