Palm??
I'm trying to figure out what this plant is, and if i can cut it off and replant it. It seems to be getting thinner at the top as it grows and its starting to get soft at the top and almost cracking off. So can i cut it a replant it??
AnswerHi Juanita, thats a Dracaena and a very weak one at that, I would cut it back to near the surface, and it will send out new growth from that bottom point, and then cut the top about a foot down and plant that in the soil next to the bottom section and you will have two plants and they will be much more structured(the middle section can be discarded). The next thing is to take proper care of the new planting; keep it watered so that when it is dry a couple of inches down, water it again and make sure the container it is in has drainage holes and drainage gravel at the bottom, so the roots don't sit in water. Keep that newly planted top section misted frequently to keep it hydrated while it sets new roots. Nick
