poney tail palm

Question
we have a pony tail palm at work that is about 25 Ayers old. It is growing a new frond just above the trunk that looks like an elephants' foot . Should we cut the new growth off or leave it ?

Answer
Roseanna,

It is strictly a matter of taste. If you do not like the look with the new frond cut it off, if you aren't sure let it go till it gets a little larger and you can see.  The larger it is you can cut it off and you may be able to root it to start a separate plant. Or it may turn out to be a nice addition to the plant that you are very happy with. Give it some time before you decide. It can be cut off any time and it won't hurt the plant. Good luck.
