foxtail palm bent frnd

Question
we just planted many new palms in the backyard about 1 week ago. we returned home this afternoon to find that on the base of one of the large fronds on our 7ft foxtail palm to be bent/snapped but still hanging on. my husband wanted to chop it off; i was hoping that there might be a way to repair this 'partial fracture' so as to maintain the symmetry of the overall shape of the palm. any suggestions? thanks!

Answer
Hi lolly, I am afraid if the spine of the frond is broken, albeit no separated, it should be removed, even though it is still partially functioning, it cannot be repaired in the true sense of the word; it will begin to brown out now, and would look bad even if you did figure a way to join it back.
