freeze/banana plants

Question
so it froze here in houston and now my plants leaves are all dead. what do i do?

Answer
Hi Debra, First of all, please know that I didn't receive this question until just now,,for some reason, my questions some times don't make it through to my e-mail. Ok, just cut back all the dead leaves and the main trunk down to the point where it is still healthy; new growth will eventually emerge from the center of the cut. If just the leaves are compromised, then just cut them all off and again, new growth will develop from the top. Bananas will continue to attempt to grow , as long as the ground hasn't frozen. Nick
