Pomelo or Pummelo fruit tree - no fruit

Question
Pomelo
Pomelo
Pummelo tree, 12yrs old, GROW FROM SEED, 12ft, healthy, never flower or fruit.

This is what I randomly tried during the last 5yrs when I am running out patient:

Put "fruit tree" fertilizer spikes, take off 70% leaves, drill holes in trunk and branches, hit trunk with baseball bat, cut down some branches but no luck.

Last year as run out option, I cut down the tree and leave only trunk back about 5ft tall but still no luck and it grows back healthy to 12ft tall.

Do you have any advice or trick to push this Pummelo to fruit.

Answer
It certainly sounds like you ran the gambit with this tree Tony....the spikes won't work,,,you need to spread a Citrus granular 3 times a year from the drip line in (evenly) at the rate of a pond per inch of trunk divided by the three times. I am at a loss with the drilling holes in the trunk?...and the 70 per cent of the leaves??..who told you to do that???? anyway, the crown needs to be sprayed with a horticultural oil once a Month for insect problems and a Copper fungicide once every 3 Months for fungal problems. I am assuming there are other Citrus in the area for pollination and that blossoms have appeared. Nick
