GRUBS ON MY FRUIT TREE

I LIVE IN CHICAGO IL AND I NEED HELP TO RID MY FRUIT TREE OF WHITE GRUBS . THEY ARE 1 INCH LONG
AND ARE AT THE ROOTS. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO.

I really need some more information to answer this question--where are the "grubs" located, what part of the tree they are attacking, what type fruit tree do you have, the area you are located., discribe as best you can the "grubs" (a picture would really help ?
