Southern Magnolia Trees

Question
Gary,

I live in South Florida (Palm Beach County).  WE have a southern Magnolia tree that has been in the ground for 2 years.  It is appx 15 feet tall.  During the hurricaines we lost quite a few leaves from it.  It never really has recovered from leaf loss however now that they are in bloom it has many buds and flowers again.  Will the leaves come back?

Thanks
Lori

Answer
Lori,

Southern Magnolias tend to have their leaves at the ends of the branches so were at risk during the storms.  I believe that the tree will recover.  Just be patient.
