i cut down 11 black locus trees in the spring of 2006,i keep getting all these sprouts comming up.what can i do to stop these sprouts from comming up  please e-mail me with your help.thanks. soninindy

These are coming from the root systems of the cut trees. You will need to kill these roots to stop the sprouting.
A herbicide called Roundup will kill these sprouts. Roundup will kill any green plant so you can spray the sprouts but if the area under the sprout is a green plant these will also be killed. Another way is to wipe the Roundup onto the sprout foliage--can use a rag wet with Roundup or a old mop. I would discard then after you are finished. Get the Roundup on the foliage and the plant will carry the herbicide to the roots killing the plant.
