bagworms

Question
I have bagworms on my dwarf evergreen, we were wondering why half of the bush was dying when we found them, will my evergreen recover after removing them and treating with pesticide? Half of my bush is brown and dead. Thank you.

Answer
It should recover. I would hand pick the bagworms off since the tree is small and can be reached. This Fall fertilize the tree with about a cup of 10-10-10 fertilizer scattered around the tree and watered in good. Fertilize again in the Spring. This will increase the overall health of the tree.
