roses of sharon

Question
I hope I have the right topic. Here is my problem I just planted 2 roses of sharon, and both of them there leaves have turn brown and dryed up. Now at first I thought I was watering them to much, but when the leaves started drying up I started wartering them more. Is there anything I can do for them, there blooms are still going strong.

Answer
Kelly,
It sounds like they went into transplant shock. This is a common problem with any plant that is planted at this time of year.
I would recommend applying a light granular fertilizer to the soil around the plants to stimulate growth. Keep them well watered, but do not drown them. If the water is puddling up under the plants, then you are overwatering.
They should come back with some extra care.
Good luck.
