A lady gave me 10 rose bushes last month. I put them in a bucket of water. They look healthy but it is getting cold here in CNY. What should I do to keep them over the winter. The roses are still in a bucket of water.

This is am ideal time in your area to plant your roses. If they sit too long in water, there is a possibility that the roots will start to rot or get a fungal problem. If you can't plant the right away then take some soil and make a soft, gooey mixture with the water. This will keep the roots strong until you can plant them. However don't leaves them too long such as a couple of weeks.
