lemon tree with brown leags and some discoloration

Question
My meyer lemon tree just started to have a bunch of leaves where the ends of the leaves turn brown and curl up a little.  There are also some brown spots (some type of bacteria no doubt) but I'm most worried abou the brown tips. Am I over/under watering/fertilizing it?

Answer
Evan,

Tip browning can be caused by a variety of things, overwatering (which can drown the roots), underwatering (which causes the roots to go dormant), or blight. If you are watering properly (for potted trees, water only when the upper 2 inches of soil is dry) or for trees planted outside (30- 45 minutes with a hose on slow trickle).

Blight is a disease, like the leafspot that is currently attacking the tree. Use a registered fungicide to control these conditions.

Good luck,
