shrubs to plant

Question
We are trying to plant something dense and tall, 9 feet wide by 14 feet tall to hide a motorhome next door.  The planting area is small and would like something that covers from the ground up.  Cannot plant vines in this area.  Zone 9 drought tolerant, clay soil. Really need a dense type of plant, evergreen.  thanks

Answer
Hello sb

It seems to me that the Thuja occidentalis (also known as the Techny Arborvitae) may be the plant you need.  It will grow to 15 feet wide and 30 feet tall - but the height can be controlled by yearly pruning - also it does take a time to grow that tall. If you plant a 2 foot tall specimen it will make about 8 feet in 5 years.  So the bigger the shrub you plant to sooner it will do the job you want of it!
