Corn Plant 6 ft tall

Question
I have a tall corn plant I purchased from a nursery 3 years ago.  It has been in my front room which is light but has not been in direct sun.  Is thriving but we are moving and I thought I would take the plant to my office. It would be put right next to a window that will get sun in the afternoon.  We have fabric blinds in that window.  What will the change in light do?  Is this plant able to adapt to the change, or should it be low light?

Answer
Hi Char,

Plants are adaptable to different light intensities... sort of.

The existing leaves on your corn plant are adapted to the light they received when they emerged. If those leaves are now exposed to light that is significantly brighter, then the color will tend to pale or bleach out somewhat.

To maintain your plant as it is, then you should aim at providing the same light brightness that it has had in the past. I know that can be hard to guage because our eyes also adapt to brightness. However, do your best to duplicate the light level from home to ofice. If you notice healthy leaves beginnning to pale just a bit, then reduce the light a bit more.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
