about a started off a rose i have

Question
i tried the websites u have for getting a started and they were all dead links the clipping u r talking about is it just reg branches or from roots and do i need to put them in water to root or soil thanks mary

Answer
Sorry Mary about the dead links, I should have checked before I sent you them. You take 5 inch cuttings off the ends of the branches as these will have the most vigor. Place them in a potting soil or you could try mixing potting soil an water to make a thick soup. You use potting soil because it has been sterilized and all the bacteria are killed. Bacteria will cause problems when you try to root cuttings as they can clog up the end of the stem where the roots will grow from. Place the glass in a sunny window. It may take a few week before anything happens.
