Should i grow it?

Question
I am currently looking at growing a specific cultivar of rose 'Grey dawn' to add to my garden. but i want to know if it will sulk or if it with thrive here in my zone 9a garden. I really dont want to waste my money on this rose only to trash it, i know it is probably prone to mildew in the very hot humid climate. My gardenis about halfway between houston and corpus christi along the coast. So should i grow it or not?

Answer
Grey Dawn is rated as doing okay in your zone even rated to a hotter zone so I see no reason why it won't do well. The only thing to keep in mind is that with this unusual coloured roses, sometimes the colour will not come true in certain soils and climates. Tis rose has a total of three different colours in it so to keep the unique shade that it is, it is probably a wisdom to give it only about 6 to 7 hours of full sun. The best sun is in the morning for roses. It will do fine with this amount and you will get the three colours, as hot sun tends to discolour.
