Lady Rose Banks

Question
This weekend my husband cut my Lady Rose Banks down.  It just looks like a stick in the ground!  It was huge and beautiful, and I just loved it!  I am not speaking to him now!  Is it just going to die now?  Is there anything I can do to bring it back? I am so heartbroken, trying to find another one somewhere!  We were getting ready to have our home tented for termites and they said we needed to trim it back, not take it down all together!
Thanks for any advice!

Answer
Because your rose was cut way back in the early growing season, there is a good chance it will grow back. Buy some liquid fish fertilizer and every two weeks give it some at half the strength it say on the container. Place any type of that you can get in your area, and put it all around the base as roses love cool, damp roots and will grow better when the soil is damp and cool. Lady Banks is a strong grower and once it gets over the shock, it should grow back very well and be beautiful again. The fish fertilizer is taken up immediately and is like chicken soup to roses when they have gone under stress.
