advise me to grow rose

Question
Hello dear

I am living in Brooklyn, NY and I am looking for variety of roses that will be suitable for NYC weather.  My garden is 12ft by 7ft.  I would like to hear your advice.  Thank you

Answer
Roses have preferences in regards to the weather and climate they like. Some will grow in your area but do much better in a warm climate such as California. The secret to a good rose garden is to only pick those roses that like your garden climate. In your area this means a rose that doesn't mind a cold winter. A lot of very good work is being done by American rose breeders and their roses are far more healthy and have greater disease resistance than many of the older hybrid teas and floribundas.
Usually in a rose bed, you put the tall roses in the center and the medium ones closer to the edges that is if you can view around the whole garden. If not then tall rose at the back medium ones in front an if possible, small ones around the edges.
Here is a short list of roses for your area.
