Very new to roses

Question
I bought about 15 roses (in containters) in late May.  All but 4 of them got planted.  It's now the 4th of July and I stumbled upone the 4 that never made it into the ground, and would like to still salvage them, if possible.   Is it too late to plant them?  They don't look very happy... they have turned black , but when I snip off the tips, there is a green ring in the center.  I never let them dry out, I just never got to planting them.
I live in central Massachusetts.

Thank you kindly for any info. : )

Answer
Probably the ones you left in their pots have gone into a snit.  Dig the new holes, cut the roses way back to 3 inches and plant them. Place some sort of mulch all around the base of the bush, sprinkle any rose fertilizer around them and water well. It will take a couple of weeks but they should start to put out brand new growth that is healthy and  so should bloom well.
