Cutting back knockout roses in the fall

Question
I live in Michigan, the frozen north, and would like to know if I should cut back my knockout roses in the fall?  Most of the wood is dead in the spring, anyway and I have to trim that off.

Answer
It really depends if they have been getting cut in the past or not. It doesn't sound like they have been.
What type of results in past have you been getting?
If they were doing fine I would not bother, otherwise I would get someone that knows how to cut them to do it since you could really damage them otherwise.

does this help?
