fall planting of knockout roses

Question
I understand that knockout roses can be planted in the fall, but is it recommended?  I can wait until spring if necessary, but would like to plant several next weekend.  We live close to Columbia, MO

Answer
Many gardeners always plant their rose bushes in the fall. This gives the rose a chance to settle in, make new roots and be ready in the spring to grow well. Rose roots will grow even when the soil temperature is 40'. In your area fall would be a good time to plant your roses.
