Knockout Roses

Question
We live in zone 8.

We planted our Knockout Roses last year.  They bloomed all last summer.  We did not prune the roses since they were not too tall.

Our Knockout Roses bloomed one time this spring, and now they are not blooming at all.  There are no buds on any of them. What should we do to make them bloom again?

Thanks for your help.

Answer
As you know, roses usually basically only bloom twice during a summer. Once in the spring and then they have to make flower buds again and then they bloom on those buds. If you are concerned about your roses blooming again, I would give them some tomato fertilizer as this contains a high amount of phosphorous, what the roses need to make flowers. Just follow the directions on the package for a mature tomato plant. Only give it to the rose one time.
