MOVING LILIES

Question
Hi; I planted oriental, asiatic lily bulbs this spring and I picked the wrong spot, I would like to move them to another spot in my garden.  I was wondering if i can move them anytime or do i have to wait till they have finished flowering. I live in zone 3.

Answer
Hi Tuula,
Thanx for your question.  Wait until the lilies have finished flowering and the foliage turns yellow or brown.  After flowering, the lily uses its foliage to gather sunlight for photosynthesis to produce sugars which are stored in the bulb for next year's growth and blooms.  I hope this helps.
Tom
