Using snap dragons for cut flowers

Question
Now that my snap dragons are in full bloom, just this spring, may I cut them to use in vases?  If I cut the flowers off, will they continue to make more flowers?

Answer
Eli,
Thank you for your question.  My specialty is perennials, propagation and water gardening.  I do not pretend to be an expert with annuals but I do know a little bit about them.  I know that there are a few varieties of snapdragon that are perennial.  Most of the snapdragons grown in the United States are grown as annuals.  Many annuals will continue to bloom as long as you cut them as they bloom.  I have no direct experience with annual snapdragons but it is my assumption that the tall-flowering "annual" snap dragons should continue to bloom as long as you keep them cut as they flower.  I hope this helps.
Tom
