chinese lillies

Question
When is the best time to separate lillies and what is the best way to do it?Thanks

Answer
Hi Mary,
thanx for your question.  The best time to separate lilies is in the early fall.  Dig up the entire plant and gently separate the bulbs and bulblets.  The bigger bulbs will probably bloom next year (anything as big as a golf ball).  The smaller bulblets may take 1-3 years to bloom.  Separate the bulbs and plant where you want but where they will get at least 6 hours of direct sunlight.  I hope this helps.
Tom
