Is there any way to keep chipmunks from eating my vegetable garden?

Dear Mary:

The best method to control chipmunks is trapping them.  However, this is usually either not convenient, or is cost prohibitive for many gardeners.  The next best alternative is to use some sort of repellent.  Listed below is a website that specializes in "critter" repellents:
