QUESTION: Don't know the type may be a "Pink Lady" but the bed is under the side eve of the eastern side of the house gets sun from mourning until noon then only some filtered light. The first time I saw the plants was in the fall and the plants looked like a Cannas bed but the next spring I was these are not Cannas'. The bed is rounded with so many plants push together.
I have other lilies that are like the "tiger" type that have flower almost like the bedded but smaller and colored up just vise a versa

Answer
Hi Dawana,
Thanx for your question.  I would let the lilies grow and bloom this season and then in the late summer or fall, when their foliage starts to yellow and wilt, dig up the bulbs or rhizomes and separate them.  You can plant them 8-12 inches apart because in three years, they are going to be clumped up again.  They will eventually reduce blooming and become disease-prone, if they are allowed to become too crowded for too long.  There is no reason you can't space them close if you like but you will have to separate them sooner as they begin clumping.  I hope this helps.
Tom
