Daylilly mess up

Question
I live in Va Beach, Va. I am moving in a month and I wanted to get a headstart in moving some daylillies and hostas. I have dug some up already ... now what

Answer
If your lillies and hostas were not showing any green when you dug them up you can simply put them in a brown paper bag (do not put them in a plastic bag!!)  and store them any where cool and out of the sun (in garage under sink et.).   If they have already started to pop with new growth you should put them in a damp peat mixture in a bucket or something where they can still get air  (again no plastic bags)  You should probably get them in the ground in two weeks or less.  And hey if you can't do either of these just dig them up with big clumps of dirt the day you move and get them in the garden (even setting on top of the ground!!) ASAP.. Hope this was helpful..
